If you or your child gets injured during a sport or physical activity, you may need to see a sports medicine specialist for treatment. Sports medicine focuses on helping you recover from injury or other medical conditions that may prevent you from engaging in exercise.

The board-certified orthopaedic surgeons and licensed physical therapists at Winchester Orthopaedic Associates have specialized training in musculoskeletal disorders, joint injuries, and other common conditions that may occur during sports.

Sports medicine physicians are orthopaedic surgeons or family care doctors with additional specialized fellowship training in sports medicine. Sometimes, orthopaedic surgeons may specialize in treating injuries in a specific part of your body, such as the knee, hip, shoulder, or back.

Additionally, some conditions may require surgery and physical therapy to restore normal movement to your joints.
